There is a suite of services for the aged available within the Shire of Peppermint Grove. The Shire is directly associated with neighbouring local governments for the provision of services for the Aged in surrounding suburbs.
The Aged Persons Support Service is located at 81 Forrest Street, Cottesloe. It is funded and supported by the Shire of Peppermint Grove in co-operation with the Towns of Claremont, Cottesloe and Mosman Park. Home and Community Care (HACC) funding is also received from the State and Federal Government to maintain this ongoing service. The service is provided by volunteers and managed by a paid Coordinator, and some paid staff, and provides assistance for the elderly and people at risk in the areas of transport services, small maintenance requests, shopping and home visits.
Social activities, such as cards, lunches and outings are also provided by TAPSS.
Although the service is physically located at Cottesloe, it is a service designed for, and financed by, the four western suburbs local Councils for all seniors in the catchment areas mentioned above.
Please contact TAPSS on (08) 9383 2663 for further information or click here to go to the TAPSS website.

The nutritious 2-course meals, a main meal and dessert, are cooked daily in our purpose-built kitchen and delivered 5 days a week—we cater for one main meal a day, 7 days a week (multiple meals may be purchased). A bottle of orange or apple juice is also supplied once a week. Currently an 8-week cyclical menu is in place.
The meals are delivered freshly chilled, so you can heat and eat when it suits you. We are able to cater for some individual requirements such as texture-modified meals, or specific diet-related meals such as vegetarian and diabetic friendly meals.
City of Stirling food services is proud to have achieved and maintain an internationally recognised food safety program (HACCP). This food safety system is independently externally audited twice a year and ensures the safety of your meals.
A referral can be made by anyone including the person needing the meals, relatives, friends, neighbours, hospitals or doctors. Meals are able to be delivered the next working day. The meals are available to people who have a disability or health condition that makes preparing their own meals not possible.
The City of Stirling has adopted the ‘wellness approach’ which aims at assisting the client to remain independent and maximise their functional independence and wellbeing. A Regional Assessment Officer (contact 1800 052 222) will make a home visit and do a Home and Community Care assessment regarding the client’s health, social and personal needs.
