Payment Options

The Shire of Peppermint Grove offers two payment options to pay your rates by:

  • Payment in full by due date
  • Payment by 4 instalments

An instalment notice will be sent to you prior to the due date of each instalment. A one off administration fee of $30 applies to this option.

Late Payment Penalty:  Interest is charged on overdue payments.  This will accrue daily at the rate of 11% per annum.

No Instalment option taken:  Interest will accrue on rates and/or services charges that remain unpaid for 35 days after the date of issue and continue to accrue until such times as the payment is made.  Eligible pensioners/seniors are exempt.

Instalment option taken:  Interest will begin to accrues daily on any instalment payment that remains upaid afrter the due date of the instalment and continue to accrue until such time as the instalment is paid.  Eligible penisoners/seniors are exempt.

Payment Methods
Rates and charges can be paid in person, by post, telephone or online over the internet. Payments may be made by cash, cheque, money order, debit, or credit card (EFTPOS).

Interim Rates
Council may be required to issue interim rates during the course of the financial year. The main reasons are: Subdivision of land – amalgamation of land – an error in the valuation – completion of a new building – additions to existing buildings – demolition of improvements.
