DEVELOPMENT SERVICES OFFICER

(FULL-TIME)

We are currently seeking a motivated town planner to join our Development Services team. The successful person will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Graduate degree or undertaking a graduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related field.
  • Knowledge of town planning principles, policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience writing reports, undertaking research and interpreting plans.
  • Knowledge of building principles, policies, and relevant legislation including experience processing certified building applications and DMIRS and Landgate reporting (Highly desirable).
  • Computer literacy and proficiency including use of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Sound interpersonal, public relations and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a team environment and liaise with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strategic policy formulation and report writing (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of compliance and local laws and fines enforcement (Desirable).

The position is a Level 7 (Shire of Peppermint Grove ECA) and has a salary of up to $82,763 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. Council has a generous superannuation scheme, a sustainable travel allowance, and provides an excellent work/life balance environment.

 

The role would ideally suit a statutory planner with highly developed administrative skills seeking greater diversity in their current role. If the successful candidate, you will have a friendly, small professional team to mentor and support you as you develop your skills.
